Go Client.

Go is different from many games in that the rules are quite simple, but actually applying these rules to play can be confusing, and playing well usually takes years to achieve! In this tutorial we will attempt to quickly and easily show how to play a game of go, so that you can then log on to the Kiseido Go Server and play against other beginners.

Each page of this tutorial will describe one concept from the game of go, and most pages will have either an interactive demonstration or a quiz at the bottom. Hopefully you will enjoy learning go and will continue to enjoy playing once you are done. Have fun!

Phil Milne, a long-time team Swing developer (he authored JTable), has written a (free!) desktop version of the popular Japanese number placement game called Su Doku. Interestingly, the mobile J2ME version of the game is based on the same game engine code as desktop one.Phil sent us a brief description of both of them: The web started Su Doku game is small (about 130K) although the application sports hints, undo, (including - take me back to where I made a mistake!), load/save and a variety of display modes, from the classic newspaper format to glitzy gems. It comes with over 200 games built-in but can provide hints for puzzles loaded from newspapers.
